Ya Nui beach is one of Phuket's best kept secrets and when you arrive here, you will see why. This small cove is tucked between two of Phuket's most stunning viewpoints, Promthep Cape and the Windmill Viewpoint. The soft, white sand and warm, clear water make this an idyllic spot.
The atmosphere is very chilled and laid-back, and you may even be lucky enough to catch a local man who plays the most beautiful guitar music.
Enjoy a delicious Pad Thai in the little thatched restaurant while you sit with the sun on your feet and a cold drink in your hand. Or, if you are feeling more adventurous, you can get out to sea in a kayak, or hire a snorkel and swim amongst the rainbow coloured fish. Kids will love to explore the many rock pools and catch a crab or two.
During high season, there are many deck chairs available for you to soak up the sun and a cocktail, or come to Ya Nui beach during low season for an invigorating walk along a deserted beach, and watch the waves crash against the rocks.
After a relaxing day spent at the beach, you can take a short walk up the hill for a little retail therapy. Many market traders gather here all year round and sell all sorts of quirky little ornaments and gifts.
Beautiful shell wind chimes, beach wear, and fresh fruit decorate these vibrant stalls. Don't worry if you are a person that just can't get the hang of bartering - their prices are fixed, but at the lowest range. Discovering the perfect bargain gift whilst sipping a chilled coconut as you browse, makes the walk up that little bit more worthwhile!
