Rawai is easily one of the loveliest areas on the South coast to visit or live in. Over the years, its rapid growth has attracted more people to the area, but it has still been able to retain the charm of a small fishing village. The area is well known for its quieter beaches, lush tropical vegetation, spectacular view points, and rugged coast line.
This area is different to other locations on the island as it is not overcrowded or overdeveloped. It is primarily a home to locals, but also boasts a large expat community who have travelled from all over the world to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle that Rawai offers
There is a little of everything for everyone here. Visit one of the amazing restaurants that serve anything from lobster, fried rice, pasta, sushi or even cheeseburgers! Eat cheap, hot chicken at a street stall or dress in your best for fine dining, overlooking the sea. The area caters for a diverse range of budgets and tastes, and whether you are want a romantic drink for two, or to dance the night away, the bars and clubs of Rawai will certainly provide an evening to remember.
Nai Harn is another spectacular area on the South coast. The scenery and white sandy beaches are simply stunning because, like Rawai, this beautiful spot remains unspoilt and has not become overdeveloped. It is rare to find such a feeling of space on a small island and it really is a breath of fresh air from the more crowded, tourist areas of Phuket.
The area is dotted with grand houses and five star resorts and there is an abundance of great restaurants and bars here. Unlike some other parts of the island, the area has more of a low key and family orientated feel to it. You can spend a day out here just relaxing, exploring, eating or walking around a beautiful part of the island. Nai Harn is a picture perfect area that is great for watching sunsets, taking photographs to treasure, or simply a place to go and enjoy relaxed pace of southern living.
